High pressure is expected to persist over the eastern Pacific
through at least the middle of the week leading to a fairly
typical trade wind pattern with occasional periods of more
moderate to breezy speeds. This should bring mainly light showers
to the favorable eastward facing slopes. Models suggest an upper
trough may cross the region around Friday into Saturday, with some
enhanced moisture moving in over Hawaii and potential for some
more persistant showers, especially across the southern islands.
Still quite a bit of uncertainty in the latest guidance regarding
details of this upper disturbance, which has implications for
where and how much precipitation falls. The ensemble means seem to
be a good starting point right now for this feature.
