An elongated sub-tropical surface high pressure centered near 35
degrees north through most of the period should keep primarily
east-northeasterly trade winds in place, with moderate to locally
breezy conditions at times over the next week.  This should result
in mainly some light showers favoring the typical windward
locations for most of next week.

However, there is good model consensus for an upper shortwave
settling over Hawaii this weekend and then weakening by early next
week.  This will likely result in some instances of heavy rainfall
across the Big Island and Maui through Sunday, with perhaps a few
inches of rain for some areas.  Otherwise, no major weather
impacts are currently anticipated over the next seven days.
