At the surface, the core of the surface high should move eastward between 30-35 degrees north, maintaining steady east-northeasterly trades through the end of the week, with perhaps some veering to the east-southeast by next weekend. The ensemble means are in good agreement on the overall weather pattern. In terms of precipitation, rainfall intensity is forecast to diminish by later Sunday, with mainly terrain enhanced showers for the typical locations on the Big Island and Maui, and lighter showers across the northwestern Islands.
