Forecast guidance is in reasonable agreement that an upper ridge
east of the island persist through the weekend with a surface high
settling over the eastern Pacific. By next week, the ridge weakens
somewhat and a surface high to the northwest of the Islands
becomes dominant through much of next week. In this regime,
precipitation is focused and favored over the windward/mountain
areas. Precipitable water values are much above normal through the
weekend into early next week which could enhance precipitation
somewhat before drying out the middle to latter portions of next
week.
