Dry Front
When a well organized polar front stalls over southern Brasil-Paraguay-Bolivia, it will block moisture transport to the southern portions of the continent.
The subsequent polar perturbations then lack enough moisture to trigger convection.
- Rainfall limited to southern Chile and coastal areas of Argentina.
The new front generally ends up merging with and/or replacing the old front to the north.
