AT 600 AM PST...A STRONG LOW PRESSURE CENTER WITH A MINIMUM
CENTRAL PRESSURE OF 996 MB...29.41 INCHES...WAS LOCATED IN
SOUTHWEST BRITISH COLUMBIA. AN OCCLUDED BOUNDARY EXTENDS FROM THE
LOW INTO EASTERN WASHINGTON. A COLD FRONT IS MOVING ACROSS CENTRAL
AND SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA. NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE RADARS AND
SURFACE OBSERVATIONS INDICATED HEAVY TO VERY HEAVY RAINFALL
OVERSPREADING CENTRAL AND SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA. FARTHER NORTH IN
WASHINGTON AND OREGON...SCATTERED LIGHT TO MODERATE RAIN WAS BEING
REPORTED. IN THE HIGHEST ELEVATIONS OF CALIFORNIA MODERATE
SNOWFALL WAS BEING REPORTED. IN ADDITION TO THE RAIN AND
SNOW...HIGH WINDS WERE ALSO IMPACTING THE WEST. SUSTAINED WINDS UP
TO 25 MPH WERE REPORTED AHEAD OF THE COLD FRONT IN SOUTHERN
CALIFORNIA. SUSTAINED WINDS UP TO 35 MPH WITH GUSTS OVER 50 MPH
HAVE BEEN OBSERVED IN THE HIGHER ELEVATIONS OF CALIFORNIA AND

EASTWARD ACROSS THE INTERMOUNTAIN WEST. THE HEAVY RAINFALL ACROSS
CENTRAL AND SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA SHOULD BEGIN TO TAPER OFF BY THE
AFTERNOON. ACROSS THE INTERMOUNTAIN WEST...SOME LIGHT TO MODERATE
RAIN CAN BE EXPECTED THROUGH SATURDAY. ANOTHER 1 TO 3 INCHES OF
RAIN CAN BE EXPECTED ALONG FAVORABLE SLOPES OF CENTRAL AND
SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA AND GENERALLY LESS THAN AN INCH FOR THE
REMAINDER OF THE WEST COAST AND INTERMOUNTAIN REGIONS. SNOW WILL
FALL IN THE HIGHEST ELEVATIONS OF CALIFORNIA...WITH AN ADDITIONAL
12 TO 18 INCHES POSSIBLE TODAY IN THE SIERRAS. IN NEVADA...4 TO 8
INCHES OF SNOW IS POSSIBLE IN THE VALLEYS WITH UP TO 18 INCHES IN
THE MOUNTAINS.
