TENNESSEE VALLEY WHILE AT THE SURFACE...A LOW WITH A CENTRAL
PRESSURE OF 994 MB...29.35 INCHES...WAS LOCATED ABOUT 40 MILES
EAST OF LEXINGTON...KENTUCKY. A COLD FRONT EXTENDED FROM THE LOW
ACROSS THE SOUTHEAST WHILE A WARM FRONT WAS LIFTING SLOWLY
NORTHWARD THROUGH THE MID-ATLANTIC REGION. NATIONAL WEATHER
SERVICE RADARS AND SURFACE OBSERVATIONS INDICATED MODERATE TO
HEAVY RAINFALL WITH EMBEDDED THUNDERSTORMS AHEAD OF THE FRONT
THROUGH PORTIONS OF THE SOUTHEAST AND MID-ATLANTIC.

ACROSS THE MID-ATLANTIC AND THE NORTHEAST WILL CONTINUE INTO
SATURDAY. ADDITIONAL RAINFALL TOTALS OF UP TO AN INCH ARE EXPECTED
ACROSS THE INTERIOR NORTHEAST WITH TOTALS OF 2 TO 3 INCHES
POSSIBLE CLOSER TO THE COAST. FLASH FLOODING MAY BE A THREAT FOR
COASTAL REGIONS OF THE NORTHEAST ON FRIDAY AND INTO EARLY
SATURDAY. TO THE WEST OF THE SYSTEM...RAINFALL WILL CONTINUE INTO
FRIDAY ACROSS PORTIONS OF THE TENNESSEE AND OHIO VALLEYS AND THE
LOWER GREAT LAKES WITH 1 TO 2 INCHES OF ADDITIONAL RAINFALL
FORECAST. FLOODING AND FLASH FLOODING MAY CONTINUE TO BE AN ISSUE
OVER PORTIONS OF THESE AREAS WHICH HAVE RECEIVED EXCESSIVE
RAINFALL OVER THE PAST WEEK.
