AT 1000 PM EDT...SNOW SPANNED FROM INDIANA TO NORTHERN TENNESSEE
TO AREAS EAST FROM VIRGINIA TO NEW JERSEY WITH EMBEDDED POCKETS OF
SLEET AND FREEZING RAIN ALSO OCCURRING IN NORTHERN PORTIONS OF
WEST VIRGINIA AND NEAR THE DISTRICT. A 998MB SURFACE LOW WAS
LOCATED OFFSHORE AND EAST OF THE CHESAPEAKE BAY/DEL-MAR-VA AND HAD
A COLD FRONT DRAPED SOUTHWEST TO CENTRAL SOUTH CAROLINA WITH A
WARM FRONT EXTENDING EAST OVER THE ATLANTIC OCEAN. THIS SYSTEM WAS
MOVING TO THE NORTHEAST PARALLEL TO THE COASTLINE.

THE CENTRAL LOW PRESSURE ASSOCIATED WITH THIS NOR'EASTER WILL
INTENSIFY OFF THE MID-ATLANTIC COAST THROUGH MIDDAY WEDNESDAY
MOVING MORE STEADILY NORTHEAST TOWARD CANADA. HEAVY SNOW WILL
IMPACT THE FAVORED UPSLOPE AREAS OF THE MID-ATLANTIC AND NEW
ENGLAND STATES AND THE MAJOR CITIES FROM WASHINGTON D.C. TO NEW
YORK TO BOSTON. STRONG AND POSSIBLY DAMAGING WINDS WILL IMPACT
EASTERN MASSACHUSETTS LATE WEDNESDAY. SNOW IS EXPECTED TO TAPER
DOWN OVER PORTIONS OF THE OHIO AND TENNESSEE VALLEYS AS THE SYSTEM
MOVES FURTHER OFFSHORE.
