The strong upper-level low will move through the Ohio Valley
tonight, causing the area of snow and freezing rain there to move
northeastward. The surface low pressure system located at the
mouth of the Chesapeake Bay will continue to strengthen as it
heads northeast late tonight into Friday. On the back side of this
surface low, an area of wintry weather is expected. The
upper-level and surface lows will create heavy snowfall in the
northern Mid-Atlantic and into the Northeast. Snowfall totals of 6
to 12 inches are forecast in portions of interior Pennsylvania and
into interior New England, with locally higher amounts. The
heaviest of the wintry precipitation will push into New England
overnight, before exiting by Friday afternoon.

The next storm summary will be issued by the Weather Prediction
Center at 400 AM EST. Please refer to your local National Weather
Service office for additional information on this event.
