The low pressure system is forecast to move eastward across the
Middle Mississippi Valley this evening and into the Ohio Valley
overnight. As the low moves away, snow will end in the Central
Plains this evening, but an additional 4 to 6 inches of snow is
possible particularly in eastern Kansas before then. Snow will
continue in the Middle Mississippi Valley this evening and into
the Upper Great Lakes tonight, on the back side of the surface
low. An additional 6 to 12 inches of snow is forecast for parts of
the Middle Mississippi Valley tonight. Lighter snow will continue
in the Upper Great Lakes region through Tuesday as lake
enhancement continues, and portions of the region are expected to
receive 8 to 12 inches of snow in total, with most of it falling
tonight and Monday. The low will move across the Lower Great Lakes
region on Monday, and snow is forecast there and in the interior
Northeast Monday night into Tuesday. 12 to 18 inches of snow is
forecast in northern New England, with 8 to 12 inches of snow
possible in the Lower Great Lakes region.
The next storm summary will be issued by the Weather Prediction
Center at 900 PM CST. Please refer to your local National Weather
Service office for additional information on this event.
