...Snow falling in northeast Colorado through western Wisconsin
while rain moves across the Southeast...

Winter storm warnings and watches are in effect for much of the
Central and Northern Great Plains into the Upper Midwest. Tornado
and flood watches are in effect for western Illinois, the
panhandle of Florida and Southwest Georgia

At 400 PM EST...At 0400 PM EST...A low pressure system with a
central pressure of 986 mb or 29.11 inches of mercury was slowly
drifting northeast through eastern Kansas. National Weather
Service radars and surface observations indicate a primary band or
swath of snow falling over parts of the Central and Northern
Plains as well as the Upper Midwest. Moderate snowfall rates are
found over southeast Minnesota and western Wisconsin. Snow
transitions to rain east of central Iowa and Wisconsin as milder
air advects north. Rain is falling in the Southeast near a warm
front along the Gulf coast. Rain is especially heavy over portions
of the Florida panhandle.

The low pressure center will track north and east across the Great
Lakes region tomorrow before moving into the Northeast Sunday
night into Monday. Greatest impacts will be over the Central Great
Plains and Upper Midwest tonight through Sunday afternoon.
Additional snowfall between 3-6 inches with locally higher amounts
are expected through Sunday.
