...Snow continues to fall from the Central Plains to the Upper
Midwest...

Widespread winter storm warnings and winter weather advisories are
in effect from eastern Montana, across parts of the Central and
Northern Plains, and into the Upper Midwest.

At 800 PM CST...A low pressure system with a central pressure of
988 mb, or 29.18 inches of mercury, was located 55 miles north of
Topeka, Kansas. National Weather Service radars and surface
observations indicated light to moderate, with pockets of heavy,
snow falling across parts of the Central Plains and into the Upper
Mississippi Valley. This system was also responsible for moderate
to heavy rainfall south of the snow area from Iowa to southern
Wisconsin, as well as very heavy rainfall and embedded strong to
severe thunderstorms across parts of the Southeast.

The low pressure center will continue tracking towards the
northeast overnight and into the Great Lakes on Sunday. Heavy
snowfall is expected to the north and west of the low with 2 to 6
additional inches of snow, with locally higher amounts, possible
from the Central Plains to the Upper Midwest. Higher amounts of 6
to 10 inches is possible across parts of the Upper Peninsula of
Michigan. Across the Southeast, heavy rainfall is expected to
continue for another couple of days with rainfall amounts 2 to 4
inches, with locally higher amounts, possible.
