The low pressure system over the southern High Plains is expected
to track northeastward across the central Plains on Thursday and
toward the upper Great Lakes Thursday night. Warm and moist air
from the Gulf of Mexico will interact with arctic air filtering in
from the north as the low pressure system tracks northeastward,
resulting in blizzard conditions across parts of the northern
Plains on Thursday. A narrow swath of snowfall accumulations of
up to 10 inches is forecast from across southeastern Colorado
through the central Plains, increasing to more than 15 inches
possible across parts of the northern Plains and the upper Great
Lakes. Blizzard conditions are forecast for central and
northeastern South Dakota as well as southern North Dakota during
the height of the storm on Thursday. The combination of heavy
snow and high winds are expected to result in hazardous travel
conditions in these areas on Thursday.

The next storm summary will be issued by the Weather Prediction
Center at 300 AM CST. Please refer to your local National Weather
Service office for additional information on this event.
