The low pressure system is expected to continue to track
northeastward toward the Upper Mississippi River Valley and
western Great Lakes through tonight. As the low pressure system
tracks northeastward, strong winds and snow will contribute to
blizzard conditions across parts of the northern Plains through
the day today. Additional snowfall of 6 to 8 inches is forecast
from northern Nebraska across central Minnesota, increasing to
more than a foot possible across northeastern Minnesota through
Friday morning. The combination of heavy snow and high winds will
make travel extremely difficult across these areas over the next
24-36 hours. Strong to severe thunderstorms will continue to drive
east across the Lower Mississippi Valley and into the Southeast
today through Friday with locally heavy rain and flooding expected
from this activity.

The next storm summary will be issued by the Weather Prediction
Center at 300 PM CST. Please refer to your local National Weather
Service office for additional information on this event.
