...Light snow over the Midwest and the Ohio Valley is slowly
tapering off...Snow across the interior Mid-Atlantic States is
expected to linger through the evening...
Winter Storm Warnings and Advisories remain in effect from the
central and southern Appalachians eastward across the north
Mid-Atlantic region.

At 300 PM EST...The center of a weakening surface low, with a
minimum pressure of 1018 millibars, was moving east-northeast into
eastern Kentucky. Another surface low, with an estimated central
pressure of 1012 millibars, continue to intensify along a coastal
front and was moving east-northeast just off the Outer Banks of
North Carolina. National Weather Service radars and surface
observations showed that the lingering areas of light snow over
the Midwest and the Ohio Valley had been slowly tapering off.
Another area of light snow was moving into western Pennsylvania.
Meanwhile, an area of snow associated with the intensifying
coastal low continued to linger over the interior Mid-Atlantic
region.

The surface low over eastern Kentucky is forecast to weaken into a
trough of low pressure tonight. The remaining light snow will
come to an end across the Midwest and Ohio Valley. Meanwhile, the
low pressure center just of the North Carolina coast will rapidly
intensify as it moves out to sea this evening. The snow over the
interior Mid-Atlantic is expected to linger into the evening
before tapering off overnight. A couple more inches of snow is
expected, bringing the snowfall totals from 5 to 10 inches across
the region.
