At 300 PM EST...A surface low pressure system with an estimated
central pressure of 1006 mb was located approximately 30 miles
west-northwest of Atlanta, Georgia. A cold front extended from the
low towards the southwest into southern Louisiana, while a
quasi-stationary and warm front extended across northern Georgia
and the Carolinas. National Weather Service radar and surface
observations indicated light to moderate snow across the Ohio
Valley and northern Mid-Atlantic, with heavy rain and
thunderstorms in the Southeast and along the Southern Appalachians.

The low pressure system in the Southeast will continue
strengthening tonight and advance just off the coast of the
Eastern U.S. Heavy rain and severe thunderstorms will continue in
the Southeast before ending late tonight. Snow will spread
northeast into New England by this evening, before tapering off
Monday afternoon across Maine. Total snowfall amounts of 4 to 8
inches, with locally higher amounts, are expected from the
northern Mid-Atlantic to southern New England.
