Northeast, while severe thunderstorms and heavy rain impact the
central/southern Mid-Atlantic and Southeast...

Winter Storm Warnings and Winter Weather Advisories extend from
the Ohio Valley into the northern Mid-Atlantic and Northeast.

At 900 PM EST...A surface low pressure system with an estimated
central pressure of 1003 mb was located over central South
Carolina. A cold front extended from the low towards the southwest
across the Florida Panhandle and into the Gulf of Mexico, while a
warm front extended across the Carolinas and into the Atlantic.
National Weather Service radars and surface observations indicated
light to moderate snow across the Ohio Valley, northern
Mid-Atlantic and Northeast, with moderate to heavy rain and
thunderstorms extending from the DelMarVa area south into the
Southeast.

The low pressure system in the Southeast will continue
strengthening tonight and advance northward just Eastern U.S.
coast. Heavy rain and severe thunderstorms will continue in the
Southeast before ending late tonight. Snow will spread into the
Northeast through Monday, before tapering off in the late
afternoon across Maine. Total snowfall amounts of 4 to 8 inches,
with locally higher amounts, are expected from the northern
Mid-Atlantic to southern New England.
