...Snow across the Upper Great Lakes and Upper Midwest begins to
wind down as low pressure system moves into southeastern Canada...
Winter Storm Warnings and Winter Weather Advisories remain in
effect for parts of the Upper Midwest and Upper Great Lakes but
are scheduled to expire in the afternoon.
Winter Weather Advisories are in effect for parts of the Northeast.

At 1000 AM EDT...A low pressure system with an estimated central
pressure of 991 mb was moving northeastward across central Great
Lakes toward southern Ontario in Canada. National Weather Service
radars and surface observations indicated that the area of light
to locally moderate snow across the Upper Midwest and Upper Great
Lakes continued to move toward southeastern Canada. Meanwhile,
light to locally moderate and heavy snow was spreading across
central New England. Areas of freezing rain were falling across
the Catskills and the Poconos. Rain was falling across parts of
western New York while snow was changing to mixed precipitation
over parts of northern New York.

The low pressure system over the Great Lakes is expected to race
northeastward into southeastern Canada today, bringing the snow
across the Upper Midwest and the Great Lakes to an end by this
afternoon. Meanwhile, the snow across central New England is
expected to change over to mixed precipitation by this afternoon
and into the evening. Mostly snow is expected for northern
England through tonight. Up to 6 inches of new snow is possible
across northern New England before the snow tapers off to flurries
by Monday morning.
