...Blizzard conditions continue across the Northern and Central
Plains as a powerful surface low spins in southeast Nebraska...
Blizzard Warnings are in effect for parts of the North/Central
Plains, Central Rockies, and Upper Midwest.
High Wind Warnings are in effect from the Southern Plains to the
Southern/Central Rockies.
Flood and Flash Flood Warnings/Watches are in effect for the
Central Plains, Middle Mississippi Valley, and Great Lakes.

At 300 AM CDT...A strong low pressure system with an estimated
central pressure of 980 mb was located over southeast Nebraska and
was moving northeastward. A cold front extended southward across
the Central Plains and curved westward into the Southern Rockies.
Another cold front was located across eastern Texas. A
quasi-stationary front extended northward from the low into
western Ontario, Canada. National Weather Service radars and
surface observations indicated moderate to heavy snowfall with
blizzard conditions in some places across the Northern/Central
Plains. Light snow and blowing snow was found across the Central
Rockies. Moderate to heavy rainfall spread into the Mississippi
and Ohio Valleys with some thunderstorm activity reported in the
Lower Mississippi Valley and into southeast Texas. High winds
gusting near 80 mph were observed across the Central Plains.

The surface low will move northeastward across the Central Great
Plains and Middle Mississippi Valley before arriving in the Great
Lakes by tonight. Additional snowfall between 3 to 6 inches are
expected across the Northern Plains through Friday morning.
Although much of the precipitation will be coming to an end late
this morning across the Plains, wind gusts will remain a hazard in
the 30-50 mph range throughout most of the day today.
