across eastern Texas and the Lower Mississippi Valley...
Flash Flood Warnings and Watches are in effect across southeastern
Texas and the Lower Mississippi Valley.
Flood Warnings are in effect across portions of southeast Texas
and much of the Lower Mississippi Valley.
Severe Thunderstorm Watches and Warnings are in effect along the
western Gulf Coast.

At 300 AM CDT...A surface low with a central pressure of 1007 mb,
or 29.74 inches of mercury, was located along the border of
Ontario and Quebec, Canada. This low was occluded, and a triple
point low was located in southern Ontario with a central pressure
of 1006 mb, or 29.71 inches of mercury. From the triple point, a
cold front extended southwestward through the Ohio Valley and
Lower Mississippi Valley, and across southeastern Texas before
stretching northward through southwest New Mexico. National
Weather Service Doppler radar and surface observations indicated a
line of strong convection along the western Gulf Coast producing
moderate to heavy rainfall across southeast Texas and southwest
Louisiana.

The cold front is expected to progress slowly, becoming a
stationary front and lingering across the Southeast through Sunday
morning. During this time, 2-5" of additional rainfall is expected
across the Southeast with locally higher amounts. Flash flooding
is possible within this region, and river flooding remains a
concern.
