across eastern Texas and the Lower Mississippi Valley...

Texas and the Lower Mississippi Valley.
Flood Warnings are in effect across portions of southeast Texas
and much of the Lower Mississippi Valley.

At 900 AM CDT...A surface low with a central pressure of 1005 mb,
or 29.68 inches of mercury, was located in southern Quebec,
Canada. This low was occluded, and a triple point low was located
just north of Lake Ontario. From the triple point, a cold front
extended southwestward through the Ohio Valley and became
stationary from the Tennessee Valley through the Lower Mississippi
Valley, and across southeastern Texas before stretching
northwestward through northern Mexico into the Southwest US.
National Weather Service Doppler radar and surface observations
indicated a region of convection off the Texas coast and a line of
convection in southeastern Louisiana producing moderate to heavy
rainfall.

The stationary front is expected to linger across the western Gulf
Coast and Lower Mississippi Valley through Sunday morning. During
this time, 2-5" of additional rainfall is expected across the
Southeast with locally higher amounts. Flash flooding is possible
within this region, and river flooding remains a concern.
