The surface low is expected to continue propagating northeastward
across Louisiana today and settle over central Mississippi
tomorrow by which time it will develop a cold front. Rain will
continue spreading out ahead of the system across the southeast
quarter of the country with an additional 1 to 3 inches likely for
the Southeast and Tennessee Valley. Locally higher amounts
potentially exceeding 5 inches are possible along the Gulf Coast
from Alabama to the Florida Panhandle. A widespread 2 to 4 inches
of rainfall is likely elsewhere from the Southern Appalachians and
Southeast through early next week as the system, very slowly,
moves eastward. Total amounts of 5 to 7 inches are possible across
the western Carolinas and southern Appalachians.

The next storm summary will be issued by the Weather Prediction
Center at 400 PM CDT. Please refer to your local National Weather
Service office for additional information on this event.
