The upper-level low over the central Plains is forecast to move
slowly east-southeast toward the southeastern U.S. during the next
few days. A broad area of low pressure at the surface will
likewise move slowly east-southeast ahead of the upper low. This
pattern will lead to a large area of long-duration moderate
rainfall to spread slowly eastward across the southeastern part of
the U.S. and into the Mid-Atlantic during the next few days.
Highest rainfall totals through Sunday evening are expected to
range from 3 inches across northern Arkansas, to 7 inches possible
along the southern Appalachians, and to more than 7 inches along
the Gulf Coast region of the Florida Panhandle.

The next storm summary will be issued by the Weather Prediction
Center at 400 AM CDT. Please refer to your local National Weather
Service office for additional information on this event.
