An upper-level low over the central Plains is forecast to move
slowly east-southeast toward the southeastern U.S. during the next
few days. A broad area of low pressure at the surface will
likewise move slowly east-southeast ahead of the upper low. This
pattern will lead to a large area of long-duration moderate to
heavy rainfall to spread slowly eastward across the southeastern
part of the U.S. and into the Mid-Atlantic during the next few
days. Highest rainfall totals through Monday morning are expected
to be 5 to 7 inches along the southern Appalachians and the Gulf
Coast region of the Florida Panhandle.

The next storm summary will be issued by the Weather Prediction
Center at 1000 AM CDT. Please refer to your local National Weather
Service office for additional information on this event.
