Northwest U.S. continues to focus multiple waves of surface low
pressure across a large area of the Great Basin and Central
Rockies. Meanwhile, an unusually cold airmass for late September
is in place from the Northern Rockies, Northern Great Basin, and

A surface low pressure system is expected to consolidate and move
into the Northern Plains by Monday morning, while the deep
upper-level low remains centered across the Northwest. Snow, heavy
at times, will continue through Monday particularly for
northwestern Wyoming, which could receive an additional 1-2 feet
of snow in higher elevations across the Rocky Mountain Front.
Elsewhere in the Northwest, 2-6 inches of additional snow is
possible with locally higher amounts, while northern portions of
the Sierra Nevada could see around a foot of snow. Strong winds
could result in poor visibility with blowing snow and drifting
snow.
The next Storm Summary will be issued by the Weather Prediction
Center at 900 PM MDT. Please refer to your local National Weather
Service office for additional information on this event.
