A surface low pressure system will consolidate and move across the
northern Plains by Monday morning, while the deep upper-level low
remains centered across the Northwest. Snow will continue through
Monday across portions of northwest Montana, which may receive as
much as an additional 6 inches. The heaviest amounts will be
across the Rocky Mountain Front. Elsewhere across the Northwest,
an additional 2 to 6 inches of snow is possible, with northern
portions of the Sierra-Nevada see as much as an additional foot of
snow. Strong winds will continue to result in areas of poor
visibility with blowing snow and drifting snow.
The next Storm Summary will be issued by the Weather Prediction
Center at 300 AM MDT. Please refer to your local National Weather
Service office for additional information on this event.
