Snows will continue spreading eastward through the Northern Plains
tonight and continue into Saturday over the Dakotas and
northwestern Minnesota. Snows will also spread south into the
Central Rockies and Central High Plains on Thursday. Additional
snowfall amounts of 6-10 inches are expected across the Northern
Rockies from southwestern Montana and northwestern Wyoming.
Snowfall amounts of 6-10 inches are also expected across portions
of the Central Rockies. Snowfall amounts of 8-15 inches are
expected from southeastern Montana and eastern Wyoming into the
Nebraska Panhandle, western South Dakota and southwestern North
Dakota. Potentially historic October snowfall totals are becoming
increasingly likely across portions of central and eastern Dakotas
- where a swath of accumulations well exceeding 24 inches is
possible. Farther east, accumulations of 4-8 inches are expected
across northwestern Minnesota. Blowing snow is also expected, with
blizzard conditions possible. Some mixed precipitation is also
possible for portions of the Dakotas along the transition zone
between snow and rain.

The next Storm Summary will be issued by the Weather Prediction
Center at 300 AM MDT. Please refer to your local National Weather
Service office for additional information on this event.
