Storm Summary Number 2 for Great Lakes to Interior Northeast
Snowstorm

...Periods of snow and patchy areas of wintry mix ongoing across
the Interior Northeast...

Winter Weather Advisories are in effect in western Michigan, north
central Indiana, much of the eastern Ohio Valley, and central New
England.

At 800 AM CDT...National Weather Service radars and surface
observations showed a surface low with an estimated minimum
central pressure of 1004 mb tracking through southeastern
Massachusetts with an associated cold front extending to the south
across the Mid-Atlantic, Southeast, and into the Gulf of Mexico. A
warm front extended to the northeast off the New England coast and
into Nova Scotia. Moderate snowfall was located on the northwest
side of the storm over northern New England. Further west, an
injection of Arctic air is causing bands of lake effect snow to
produce locally heavy snow across parts of Great Lakes.

The low pressure system will continue tracking norteast today
before pushing off into the Canadian maritime later this evening.
Additional snow totals of 1-3 inches are possible for parts of
northern New England, the central Appalachians, and Lower Great
Lakes with locally higher amounts through tonight. Parts of the
Upper Great Lakes may receive an additional 4-8" of snow with
localized amounts approaching 12" through Wednesday morning due to
intense lake effect bands.
