southeastern Colorado approximately 7 miles north of Trinidad.
National Weather Service radars indicated snow falling across the
Central Rockies and Central Plains with the foothills and Front

moderate to heavy snow and increasingly gusty winds have led to
poor visibilities and blowing/drifting snow from northern Colorado

The storm system will track east through the central Plains today
and into the Midwest by tonight. A swath of moderate to heavy
snowfall will move across the central Rockies and central Plains
during the daylight hours Tuesday then move into the Midwest this
evening. By Wednesday morning, the storm and its associated bands
of snow will be located in the northern Great Lakes and Upper
Midwest. The forecast calls for snow totals of 8 to 14 inches
across northeast Colorado, across central Nebraska, and into
southeast South Dakota, northwest Iowa, south-central Minnesota,
and northwest Wisconsin. Some portions of central Nebraska through
the Upper Peninsula of Michigan may receive over a foot of snow.
Gusty winds will also cause blowing and drifting snow, as well as
reduced visibilities causing whiteout conditions. A narrow zone in
the central Plains and Midwest will mix with, or change over to,
rain and can expect lesser snowfall totals but slick roads will
still be a concern.

The next Storm Summary will be issued by the Weather Prediction
Center at 200 PM MST. Please refer to your local National Weather
Service office for additional information on this event.
