Winter Storm Warnings are in effect for much of eastern Nebraska,
southeastern South Dakota, northwest Iowa, much of southern and
eastern Minnesota, and northern Wisconsin, and most of Michigans
Upper Peninsula.

At 200 AM CST...A potent upper-level trough over Iowa is causing a
surface low pressure system to strengthen over the state. Latest
surface observations indicated an occluded center of low pressure
of 988 mb, or 29.18 inches of mercury, located northwest of Des
Moines, Iowa. National Weather Service radars and surface
observations indicated a swath of light to moderate snowfall
extending from eastern Nebraska and western Iowa across much of
Minnesota, northern Wisconsin, and Michigan's Upper Peninsula.
Winds gusting over 30 mph are causing visibilities to drop below a
mile in areas experiencing snowfall and allowing snow to blow and
drift on roads.

The storm system will track north and east into the Great Lakes
later today. A swath of moderate to heavy snowfall will move into
northeast Minnesota and Michigan's Upper Peninsula this morning.
The swath of highest snow totals will be found along the northern
shores of Michigan's Upper Peninsula where on average 8-12" of
snow is expected with locally higher amounts reaching 24" are
possible. Gusty winds will also cause blowing and drifting snow,
as well as reduced visibility causing whiteout conditions.
Treacherous travel conditions are likely across parts of the Upper
Midwest much of Wednesday. Conditions will gradually improve
Wednesday evening as high pressure over the northern Plains moves
overhead in time for Thanksgiving morning.
The next Storm Summary will be issued by the Weather Prediction
Center at 300 PM CST. Please refer to your local National Weather
Service office for additional information on this event.
