The low pressure system currently in the southern Plains will
track east sending its swath of wintry precipitation into Ohio
Valley this evening and the Mid-Atlantic for Monday morning. Icy
travel conditions are expected in these regions Monday morning.
Meanwhile, the low pressure centers in New Mexico this afternoon
will also head east and strengthen into one primary area of low
pressure over eastern Texas late Monday. This re-developed area of
low pressure will produce more wintry precipitation from central
Kansas to central Illinois Monday. Additional snow and ice
accumulations are anticipated over the Lower Great Lakes states
causing more travel headaches Monday evening. Farther south, there
is a threat for severe thunderstorms in the Deep South and a
threat for flash flooding in the eastern Ohio and Tennessee
Valleys Monday afternoon and evening. The storm system will
advance east into the Mid-Atlantic Tuesday morning where snow and
an icy wintry mix will occur in the eastern Great Lakes, interior
Northeast, and New England. Showers and thunderstorms will be in
the forecast Tuesday afternoon across the Southeast.

The next Storm Summary will be issued by the Weather Prediction
Center at 900 PM CST. Please refer to your local National Weather
Service office for additional information on this event.
