The stationary boundary extending from the Mid-Atlantic to the
Southern Plains will move very little through Monday morning,
while a low pressure system develops along this front across the
Lower Mississippi Valley. Snow, sleet, and freezing rain will
continue across the Ohio Valley through Monday morning and extend
into portions of the Mid-Atlantic. Meanwhile, as low pressure
strengthens across the Lower Mississippi Valley on Monday, snow
currently impacting the Southern Rockies will spread eastward
across the Middle Mississippi Valley. This second surge of
moisture will produce more wintry precipitation from central
Kansas to central Illinois Monday. Farther south, there is a
threat for severe thunderstorms in the Deep South and a threat for
flash flooding in the eastern Ohio and Tennessee valleys Monday
afternoon and evening. The storm system will advance east into the
Mid-Atlantic Tuesday morning, where snow and an icy mix will occur
in the eastern Great Lakes, interior Northeast, and New England.

The next Storm Summary will be issued by the Weather Prediction
Center at 300 AM CST. Please refer to your local National Weather
Service office for additional information on this event.
