and Northeast...
Winter Storm Warnings are in effect for portions of northeastern
Pennsylvania and northwestern New Jersey.
Winter Weather Advisories continue for parts of the northern
Mid-Atlantic, and New England.

At 300 PM EST...Surface observations indicated an area of low
pressure over central Virginia, with an estimated central pressure
of 1003 mb, 29.61 inches of mercury. A cold front extended
southward into the Florida Panhandle and Gulf of Mexico while a
warm front extended eastward from the low across the Virginia
Tidewater and eastern shore of Maryland, before linking up into a
new low off of the southeastern coast of New Jersey. This coastal
surface low had a central pressure of 1000 mb, or 29.53 inches of
mercury. National Weather Service Radar and surface observations
showed bands of light to moderate snow from eastern Ohio to
southern Maine, with a few locations in the Mid-Atlantic and
Northeast observing mixed precipitation or freezing rain. Locally
heavy rain and thunderstorms were also occurring ahead of the cold
front across the Southeast.

The low pressure system located in Virginia will move
northeastward across the Mid-Atlantic before consolidating with
the coastal low off of the New England coast this evening. Snow
and an icy mix will wrap up for New England and Maine this evening
as the storm heads out to sea. Additional accumulations will be
light.
