Low pressure will intensify and heavy snow will become more
widespread as the storm lifts slowly northward through the Plains
states through Sunday morning, with the storm then continuing to
churn through Monday. More than a foot of snow is likely from
central South Dakota to western Minnesota from Saturday night to
Sunday morning. Accumulations as high as 5 to 10 inches are
expected in northern Minnesota and western Nebraska, with lesser
amounts of 1 to 6 inches across the Desert Southwest and eastern
Colorado and Wyoming. Winds sustained over 20 mph and gusting
above 30, will create some areas of blowing and drifting snow,
especially in the Central and Northern Plains. Meanwhile, along
and east of the low pressure track the precipitation will be
mainly freezing rain in southwest Minnesota, and simply rain in
Wisconsin. With unusually warm temperatures, melting snow cover,
and unusually heavy rainfall of 1.5 to 2.0 inches, some flooding
and river flooding is possible in Wisconsin.

The next Storm Summary will be issued by the Weather Prediction
Center at 900 PM CST. Please refer to your local National Weather
Service office for additional information on this event.
