The low center will continue to lift towards the northeast through
Sunday, reaching the Upper Great Lakes region by early Monday.
Moderate to heavy snow will become more widespread overnight and
throughout the day on Sunday from Nebraska to northern Minnesota
and into northern Wisconsin and the U.P. of Michigan. Storm total
snow accumulations of 6 to 18 inches, with locally higher amounts,
are possible. Freezing rain is also likely along the southern edge
of the precipitation shield with light accumulations around a
hundrenth to a tenth of an inch and locally higher amounts. In
addition to wintry precipitation, gusty winds of 30 to 40mph are
likely across the impacted regions, which will result in areas of
blowing and drifting snow and hazardous travel conditions. As the
system moves eastward into Monday, potentially significant snow
and ice will develop across portions of New England. Snow
accumulations of 6 to 8 inches is expected, with ice accumulations
in excess of a quarter of an inch, especially in the higher
elevations. To the south, heavy rainfall is likely from
Mississippi Valley to the Ohio Valley on Sunday, moving into the
Northeast on Monday, with flooding and flash flooding possible.

The next Storm Summary will be issued by the Weather Prediction
Center at 300 AM CST. Please refer to your local National Weather
Service office for additional information on this event.
