The low pressure system in the West is expected to weaken as it
makes landfall Saturday night. The cold front will advance across
the Southwestern U.S. through Sunday morning bringing rain and
snow within higher elevations. Simultaneously, a cold front is
expected to move southerly into the Northern Rockies and Northern
Plains beginning Saturday night. This will bring frigid arctic air
and heavy snow across the Upper Midwest. Snow accumulations are
expected of approximately 6-10 inches across the Northern Plains
by Monday morning.

The next storm summary will be issued by the Weather Prediction
Center at 700 PM PST. Please refer to your local National Weather
Service office for additional information on this event.
