The low pressure system in the west is expected to continue to
weaken as it makes landfall today. The associated cold front will
continue advancing advancing east on Sunday bringing rain and snow
to the Intermountain West and Rockies. Simultaneously, a cold
front is expected to descend into the Northern Plains and Rockies.
This will bring frigid arctic air and heavy snow across the
Northern Plains and Upper Midwest through Monday. Snow
accumulations of approximately 6-10 inches are probable across the
Northern Plains while up to 6 feet of snow is expected for parts
of the Sierra through Monday evening.
The next storm summary will be issued by the Weather Prediction
Center at 700 AM PST. Please refer to your local National Weather
Service office for additional information on this event.
