...Snow continues to taper off across the Pacific Northwest, but
persist across much of the higher elevations of northern
California and into the Intermountain West today...

Blizzard Warnings are in effect for parts of central Washington.

Winter Storm Warnings and Winter Weather Advisories are in effect
for parts of the Pacific Northwest, into portions of the
Intermountain West, northern Rockies, parts of the Great Basin,
and across the higher elevations of northern California and down
along the Sierra Nevada into the higher elevations of southern
California.

Winter Weather Advisories are in effect across parts of the
Midwest and Upper Great Lakes, as well as portions of the Middle
Mississippi Valley, Ohio Valley, and Mid-Atlantic.

Flood Watches are in effect across parts of the Lower and Middle
Mississippi Valleys, as well as portions of the Tennessee and Ohio
Valleys.

Winter Storm Watches are in effect across Vermont and northern New
York.

Winter Storm Watches are in effect across eastern Washington.

At 1200 AM PST...A deep upper-level low interacting with an arctic
front continues to bring scattered snowfall to the Pacific
Northwest and Intermountain West. A surface low pressure system
with an estimated central pressure of 1005 mb...29.68 inches of
mercury...was moving slowly southward off the coast of southern
Oregon. Meanwhile, another surface low with an estimated central
pressure of 1000 mb, was located over southwestern Idaho.
Satellite imagery, National Weather Service radar and surface
observations indicated that scattered snow showers were rotating
across parts of Oregon and over southern Washington. Heavier snow
was affecting parts of northern California and down along the
Sierra Nevada. Scattered areas of snow were also found across
parts of the Intermountain region. Rain was the precipitation type
for the immediate coast of Washington, over the lower elevations
of western Oregon, northern and central California. Further east,
upper level energy was causing a light mix of rain, sleet and snow
across portions of the Central Plains, Middle and Lower
Mississippi Valleys.

The low pressure system off the coast of Oregon is expected to
move southward and onshore into southwestern Oregon this morning.
Scattered snow currently over the Pacific Northwest is expected to
gradually taper off from north to south this morning as the system
moves farther to the south. Meanwhile, snow will continue across
the higher elevations of northern California including the Sierra
Nevada before becoming more scattered in nature later on Sunday
and spreading further into the Intermountain West. On the heels of
this storm, another system is forecast to arrive Sunday night
across the Pacific Northwest and bring additional heavy snowfall.
East of the Rockies, snow and mixed precipitation will continue to
develop across the Central Plains and Middle Mississippi Valley
before reaching the Ohio Valley and Mid-Atlantic by Sunday
evening. As the main feature currently impacting the West enters
the Great Plains, widespread snow will develop across the Upper
Midwest and Great Lakes on Monday, with a wintry mix found across
the Mid-Atlantic. The wintry precipitation will move into the
Northeast by Tuesday. On the southern edge of the storm, heavy
rain will be likley across portions of the Middle Mississippi
Valley through early Tuesday.
