The next round of winter weather has entered the Pacific Northwest
and will continue through this morning. More than two feet of snow
is forecast for the Cascades while 2 to 4 inches of snow is
possible for the lower elevations of Washington, including
Seattle, through Monday. Meanwhile, 6 to 10 inches of snow can be
expected across the Intermountain West through Monday as the cold
front moves farther to the east across the Rockies. Looking
further ahead, as the cold front moves out into the the central
Plains on Monday, a low pressure system is forecast to intensify
and spread snow/wintry precipitation rapidly across the upper
Midwest, Great Lakes on Tuesday and into the Northeast Tuesday
night. On the southern edge of the storm, heavy rain could lead
to flooding issues across the mid-Mississippi Valley into the Ohio
Valley through Tuesday morning.
The next storm summary will be issued by the Weather Prediction
Center at 800 AM MST. Please refer to your local National Weather
Service office for additional information on this event.
