...Ongoing snow and rain in Arizona. Heavy rain for parts of the
Lower Mississippi and Tennessee Valleys...

Flash Flood Watches and Warnings as well as Flood Advisories and
Warnings are in effect for the Lower Mississippi Valley up through
the Tennessee/Ohio Valleys and Mid-Atlantic.

Winter Storm Watches, Warnings and Advisories are in effect for
parts of the Southwest, Intermountain West and the
Central/Southern Rockies through to the Northern/Central Plains,
Middle Mississippi Valley and Upper Midwest/Great Lakes.

At 700 AM MST...A surface low with a central pressure of 1002 mb
was located over Eastern Arizona moving east-northeast toward the
Southern Plains. Moisture advection from the Gulf was overrunning
a frontal boundary, which was oriented across the Lower
Mississippi Valley through the Southeast and into the Atlantic,
producing rain. National Weather Service radars and observations
indicated rain and snow falling in Arizona. Meanwhile, moderate to
heavy rainfall were observed over the Lower Mississippi, Tennessee
and Ohio Valleys as well as the Mid-Atlantic.

The Southwest storm is expected to reorganize and will arrive in
the Southern Plains by Saturday morning. Meanwhile, a new surface
low will develop along the boundary in the Lower Mississippi
Valley and begin moving north. Snowfall amounts ranging from 6 to
10 inches possible for the Western Arizona/Eastern New Mexico and
the Southern/Central Rockies through Saturday morning. 2 to 4
inches of snow possible across the Central/Northern Plains.
Rainfall totals of up to 2.5 inches likely for an area from
southeast Arkansas through northern Mississippi and into
western/central Tennessee.
