The low pressure system is forecast to become better organized
through the rest of tonight and gradually intensify through
Saturday night as it lifts northeastward from eastern Colorado to
Michigan, and moves into the Northeast with a weaker disturbance
crossing the northern Plains. The result will be widespread snow
from the Dakotas to the Great Lakes through Saturday, and then
reaching the interior Northeast by Saturday night and into Sunday.
Snowfall totals are expected to range from 6 to 12 inches, with
locally higher amounts, for those areas that remain all snow.
Freezing rain is also expected to make weather headlines farther
to the south from eastern Kansas to the Ohio Valley and then the
central Appalachians, with up to three tenths of an inch of ice
accretion possible for portions of Missouri and two tenths across
the central Appalachians.

The next Storm Summary will be issued by the Weather Prediction
Center at 400 AM EST. Please refer to your local National Weather
Service office for additional information on this event.
