...Snow and freezing rain move eastward into the Northeast with
rain extending from Texas and the Southeast to the Mid-Atlantic...
Blizzard Warnings are in effect for the eastern Dakotas, western
Minnesota, and northern Iowa.
Winter Storm Warnings are in effect for eastern Minnesota and
Iowa, western Wisconsin, northwest Illinois, the western third and
eastern third of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, north-central
New York, southern Vermont, western Connecticut, northern and
western Massachusetts, eastern New Hampshire, and southern Maine.
Winter Weather Advisories are in effect for central South Dakota,
eastern Wisconsin, western Michigan and much of the Northeast.
Lakeshore Flood Warnings are in effect for western Michigan and
far western New York.

At 300 PM EST...Surface observations showed a low pressure system
with a minimum pressure of 998 millibars, or 29.47 inches of
mercury, located over northern Lake Michigan. National Weather
Service Doppler radars continue to show scattered showers and
thunderstorms from coastal Texas to the southern Appalachians. A
zone of freezing rain and sleet is occurring across southern
Pennsylvania, northern Maryland, northern Virginia, and the West
Virginia panhandle. Snow is falling across parts of the Upper
Great Lakes and the the Northeast. Strong winds continue across
the Plains with blizzard conditions ongoing across the eastern
Dakotas, western Minnesota, and northern Iowa.

The low pressure system will track east through the eastern Great
Lakes tonight and into New England Sunday morning. Snow will
continue to fall over the eastern Great Lakes and the interior
Northeast with snowfall amounts of 8 to 12 inches expected.
Freezing rain and sleet will continue to fall across the northern
Mid-Atlantic with localized ice accumulations up to one quarter
inch possible in portions the central Appalachians. Further south,
scattered showers and thunderstorms will track across portions of
coastal Texas, the Deep South and Southeast this evening and into
the overnight hours. The storm system will move into the northwest
Atlantic Sunday afternoon with lingering lake effect snow showers
continuing across the eastern Great Lakes in wake of the storm.
