...Snow and freezing rain move eastward into the Northeast with
rain extending from Texas and the Southeast to the Mid-Atlantic...
Winter Storm Warnings are in effect for the Arrowhead of
Minnesota, Northern Wisconsin, the western shore and eastern tip
of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, Tug Hill and Southern
Adirondacks of New York, southern Vermont, northwestern
Connecticut, northern and western Massachusetts, northern New
Hampshire, and southern Maine.
Lake Effect Snow Warnings are in affect for Northeastern PA, and
far Southwestern NY off Lake Erie.
Winter Weather Advisories are in effect for the remaining western
third of the Upper Peninsula of MI, the bulk of Western and
Northern Lower Peninsula of MI, Northeastern PA, and the remainder
of New York and New England.
Lakeshore Flood Warnings are in effect for eastern/southeastern
shores of Lake Michigan, Northern Lake St. Clair, eastern
coastlines of Lake Erie and Lake Ontario.

At 900 PM EST...Surface observations depicted a low pressure
system with a minimum pressure of 998 millibars, or 29.47 inches
of mercury, located over northern Lake Huron. National Weather
Service Doppler radars continue to show scattered showers
along/ahead of the cold front Ohio River near Huntington, WV.
While broader shield of lighter precipitation of snow and sleet
exist across Northeastern NY and across much of New England.
Light to moderate rain showers extend south from about Long Island
through the Delmarva into eastern North Carolina. Behind the cold
front, very strong winds are laeding to reduced visibilities from
blowing snow, Wind Chill Advisories across the Northern Plains
into the Upper Midwest from ND to N IL. Additionally, the strong
winds and open lakes, support strong Lake Effect snow bands
downstream of Lake Superior and Lake Michigan.

The low pressure system will continue to track east through
Southern Onatario toward northern New York by early tomorrow
morning (Sunday). A new costal surface low will develop within
the Gulf of Maine eventually taking over for the older filling one
as it crosses into Southeast Canada later today. Snow will
continue to fall across Northeast New England with an additional 5
to 8 inches of snow expected and 2 to 4 inches across Southeastern
New England. Strong Lake Effect Snow bands downstream of Lake
Erie, Ontario and Western Superior. Downstream of Lake Michigan
and eastern Lake Superior will be lighter/less focused with an
additional 3 to 5 possible.
