Light to moderate snow falling over the Northern/Central Rockies
and Central Plains.
Winter Storm Warnings, Watches and Advisories are in effect for
parts of Wyoming, Colorado, northern New Mexico, Central/Southern
Plains and Missouri.

At 700 PM MST...A low pressure system with a central atmospheric
pressure of 992 mb or 29.29 inches of mercury was identified over
central Colorado. An occluded front extended southward into a
triple-point low in Northern New Mexico where the pressure was
observed to be 994 mb or 29.35 inches of mercury. A cold front
stretched southwestward into Arizona, northwestern Mexico and
eastern Pacific. Another boundary stretches eastward into northern
Texas, up across the central and Mid-Atlantic U.S. and eventually
into the Atlantic. National Weather Service Radar and surface
observations indicated light to moderate snow occuring across much
of Colorado and Wyoming with some light snow beginning to stretch
into western Nebraska. The heaviest snow was observed over central
Colorado near Wilkerson Pass.

This low pressure system will move eastward across the central and
eastern U.S. through Friday before departing north toward
Newfoundland. Most of the snow will fall in a swath between New
Mexico and Northern Maine. A total of 6-12 inches of snow is
forecast for the Colorado and Wyoming Rockies through Wednesday.
Snow amounts of 4-8 inches are possible for parts of the Southern
Plains through this same period. Several inches of rain possible
through Saturday over the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic with
thunderstorms possible.
