Light to moderate snow falling over the Northern/Central Rockies
and Northern/Central Plains.
Winter Storm Warnings, Watches and Advisories are in effect for
parts of Wyoming, Colorado, northern New Mexico, Central/Southern
Plains and Missouri.

At 100 AM MST...A low pressure system with a central atmospheric
pressure of 998 mb or 29.47 inches of mercury was identified over
eastern New Mexico. A front stretched southwestward into
northwestern Mexico and the eastern Pacific. Another boundary
stretches eastward into Texas, up across the central and
Mid-Atlantic U.S. and eventually out into the Atlantic. National
Weather Service Radar and surface observations indicated light to
moderate snow occuring across much of Colorado and Wyoming with
some light snow falling over western Nebraska. The heaviest snow
was observed over central Colorado near Cottonwood Pass.

This low pressure system will move eastward across the central and
eastern U.S. through Friday before departing north toward
Newfoundland. Most of the snow will fall in a swath from New
Mexico to Northern Maine. A total of 6-12 inches of snow is
forecast for the Colorado and Wyoming Rockies through Wednesday.
Snow amounts of 4-8 inches are possible for parts of the Southern
Plains and Northeast through this same period. Several inches of
rain possible through Saturday over the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic
with thunderstorms likely.
