California mountains and Sierra. Through Friday, additional
snowfall accumulations of 4 feet or more are expected across a
large portion of the Sierra. Additional snowfall accumulations of
1-2 feet, with locally heavier amounts, are expected across the
mountains of northern California, the southern California coastal
ranges, as well as southern Idaho and western Wyoming ranges.
Snowfall accumulations of 6-12 inches, with locally heavier
amounts, are expected across the Nevada and Utah mountains. This
system will also continue to produce periods very heavy rainfall,
with amounts of 5-7 additional inches possible along the central
and southern California coasts. Flash flooding and debris flows
are likely, especially near, but not limited to burn scar areas.
Strong gusty winds can also be expected along the California
coastline, in the Bay Area, and across the Sacramento Valley.
