and central California...
Blizzard Warnings are in effect for portions of the Sierra.
Winter Storm Warnings are in effect for portions of southern
Idaho, northern/central California, the Sierra, western Nevada,
and the southern California mountains.
High Wind Warnings are in effect for portions of central and
southern California.
Flood Advisories and Flash Flood Watches are in effect for
portions of central and southern California.

At 600 AM PST...A low pressure center was located at or near the
central Oregon/California border, near 42N 121W, with an estimated
pressure of 1002 mb, or 29.59 inches of mercury. An occluded
frontal boundary extended down the Sierra and into a triple point
near Fresno, CA. Moderate to locally heavy rain was observed along
the central California coast and inland valleys. Moderate to heavy
snow was observed in the northern California mountains and the
Sierra.

Heavy snow will continue to impact a large portion of the northern
California mountains and Sierra. Through Friday, additional
snowfall accumulations of 4 feet or more are expected across a
large portion of the Sierra. Additional snowfall accumulations of
1-2 feet, with locally heavier amounts, are expected across the
mountains of northern California, the southern California coastal
ranges, as well as southern Idaho and western Wyoming ranges.
Snowfall accumulations of 6-12 inches, with locally heavier
amounts, are expected across the Nevada and Utah mountains. This
system will also continue to produce periods very heavy rainfall,
with amounts of 5-7 additional inches possible along the central
and southern California coasts. Flash flooding and debris flows
are likely, especially near, but not limited to burn scar areas.
Strong gusty winds can also be expected along the California
coastline, in the Bay Area, and across the Sacramento Valley.
