...Heavy rainfall, high elevation mountain snow, and gusty winds
continue across California...

Flash Flood Warnings are in effect for burn scars and upslope
portions of the Sierra Nevada in northern and central California.

Flood Warnings are in effect for upslope portions of the southern
Sierra Nevada.

Winter Storm Warnings are in effect for the Sierra Nevada.

Flood Advisories are in effect for portions of the Sacramento and
San Joaquin Valleys of California as well as the central
California coast.

Flash Flood Watches are in effect for portions of central and
southern California.

At 700 AM PDT...A low pressure system with a central pressure of
964 mb, or 28.47 in/Hg, was analyzed west of Vancouver Island in
British Colombia, at approximately 48.5 north, 128.5 west. An
occluded front wrapped around the system through central British
Columbia and western Alberta, with a meandering cold/stationary
front draped southwest across the Northern Rockies, northern Great
Basin, and through northern and central California. National
Weather Service Doppler radar indicated a broad area of moderate
to heavy rainfall continuing along and south of this cold front
across northern and central California, roughly from the Lake
Tahoe region southward through the San Joaqiun Valley to the coast
at Big Sur and through the Southern Coast Ranges. In addition,
heavy snowfall was occurring at higher elevations in the Sierra
Nevada.

The low pressure center will continue to weaken as it moves slowly
northeast while the cold front will continue southward through
Southern California Monday. Heavy rain will continue to move
southward through the state along the front through Monday evening
as heavy snow continues for higher elevations of the Sierra
Nevada. A Slight Risk of Excessive Rainfall is in effect along the
windward side of the Sierra Nevada on the eastern edge of the San
Joaquin Valley where an additional 3" + of rainfall is possible. A
Marginal Risk is in effect for a broader portion of the San
Joaquin Valley as well as Big Sur and the Southern Coast Ranges
for an additional couple inches of rain. Flash flooding will
remain a concern specifically for burn scars. Winter Storm
Warnings remain in effect for higher elevations of the Sierra
Nevada through this evening, where totals locally could exceed
several feet.
