...A wintry mix of snow, sleet, and freezing rain stretching from
the Great Lakes and Ohio Valley northeast to New England will
begin to taper off through Tuesday night...
Winter Storm Warnings are in effect for portions of northern New
Hampshire and Maine.
Winter Weather Advisories are in effect for northeast New York as
well as portions of northern New England and southern Maine.

At 800 AM CST...A primary low pressure center was located in
central New Jersey, at approximately 40 N, 74.5 W, with a central
pressure of 1000 mb, or approximately 29.53 inches of mercury. A
warm front extended to the northeast over southern New England and
continued east off the Atlantic coast. A cold front extended south
along the Eastern Seaboard, curving southwest into the Gulf of
Mexico. A secondary center of low pressure was located over the
western New York/Pennsylvania border, at approximately 42 N, 79 W,
with a central pressure of 998 mb, or approximately 29.47 inches
of mercury. A cold front extended to the southwest across the
Appalachians to the South. A wintry mix of sleet and freezing rain
was present to the north of the warm front across northern New
England with moderate snow occurring in northern Maine. Light to
moderate snow continued west of the secondary cold front for
portions of the southern Great Lakes and Ohio Valley.

Both the primary and secondary low pressure centers and associated
cold fronts will continue to the east-northeast, moving offshore
of the New England coast and Eastern Seaboard by this evening. To
the north of the primary warm front, a wintry mix of sleet and
freezing rain will continue through early this evening for
portions of northern New England and southern Maine, with mostly
snow farther north in the colder air in place over northern Maine.
Additionally, snow will continue to move eastward behind the
secondary cold front through the upper Ohio Valley, New York, and
northern New England through tonight. Winter Storm Warnings and
Winter Weather Advisories currently in effect for portions of the
southern Great Lakes will expire in the next few hours.
The next storm summary will be issued by the Weather Prediction
