...Significant heavy rainfall is forecast to fall over the
Southern Plains and Lower Mississippi Valley today, further
exasperating ongoing flood issues in the region...
Flash Flood Warnings are in effect south of San Antonio.
Flood Warnings are in effect east of the DFW Metro, and further
southeast along the Gulf Coast.
Flash Flood Watches are in effect across the eastern half of the
Southern PLains into the Lower Mississippi Valley.
A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is in effect over far southern Texas.

At 900 AM CDT...National Weather Service Doppler RADAR detected
several complexes of showers and thunderstorms progressing along
the Texas Coast. The main complex was translating eastward over
far southern Texas, roughly between a Kingsville to Brownsville
line. A broad area of southward propagating thunderstorms was
noted east of the main line along the Texas coast, ahead of an
outflow boundary analyzed in the Gulf of Mexico. Meanwhile,
another area of thunderstorms was observed via RADAR and satellite
imagery off the southeast coast of Louisiana, gradually
progressing NNE.

Through midweek, outflows from previous thunderstorms may help to
provide convergent areas that storms could form along. Additional
rainfall of 3 to 6 inches is forecast to be widespread across much
of eastern Texas and into western Louisiana through Thursday, with
locally even higher amounts possible. A Moderate Risk of excessive
rainfall remains in place over the Southern Plains/Lower
Mississippi Valley through Friday morning.
