...Additional heavy rainfall is forecast to fall over the Southern
Plains and Mississippi Valley today, exasperating ongoing flood
issues in the region...
Flash Flood Watches are in effect across the eastern half of the
Southern PLains into the Mississippi Valley.
Flood Warnings are in effect east of the DFW Metro, and further
southeast along the Gulf Coast.

At 900 AM CDT...National Weather Service Doppler RADAR detected a
complex of showers and thunderstorms over eastern Louisiana,
progressing northward. Additional thunderstorms were observed over
the Gulf of Mexico via visible satellite imagery. An east-west
oriented outflow boundary was analyzed at the surface just
offshore in the Gulf of Mexico.

Through Friday, a continous feed of moisture from the Gulf of
Mexico is forecast to fuel additional thunderstorm development
over the region. Additional rainfall of 1 to 2 is forecast across
portions of the central and western Gulf coast through Sunday. A
Moderate Risk of excessive rainfall remains in place over the
South Central Louisiana through Friday morning.
